What would be the Permits cost doing trekking in Nepal?
Trekkers in Nepal are allowed to trek as free individual trekkers (FIT) or group trek Means joining with registered trekking Company and having at least one supporter staff. However, there is any trekking destination in Nepal and some of them are under ‘Restricted Areas’ that are extremely regulated by the Government of Nepal. And some other trekking destinations are lies inside National Park, Conservation area, or any other protected land whereas you are planning to visit off course you have to have an entry permits inside the mentioned areas.

There are certain criteria to get permits in Nepal.

  1. Restricted area entry Permits.
  2. National Park Entry Permits.
  3. Conservation Area Entry Permits.
  4. Wildlife reserve Entry Permits.
  5. Hunting Reserve Entry Permits.
  6. World heritage site Entry Permits
  7. Local area entry Permits.
  8. Park Entry Permits.
  9. Museum Entry permit.
  10. Art Gallery Entry Permits.

The permits and entry fees are completely different from different areas

  1. Restricted area entry Permits.

The restricted area is totally controlled by the Nepal Government. The permits will be issued only on the department of immigration of Nepal. Individually you are not allowed to get the permits for restricted area of Nepal, therefore you have to join local registered trekking Company i.e. Visit Himalaya Treks Pvt. Ltd. And the company will process all the documentation and apply for Permits. To get Special Permits for Restricted area you have to show your original Passport and Valid Nepali Visa.

  1. National Park, Conservation Area, Wildlife Reserve, and Hunting reserve.
    All the foreigner trekkers need to obtain permits to enter all the national parks, conservation areas, Wildlife Reserve and Hunting Reserve in Nepal. If there are traveler below 10 years then the entry permits do not require to enter those mentioned areas.

Trekkers management system (TIMS) card and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu village development community entrance fee is not included in the above record. Here, if you are traveling through registered trekking agency of Nepal then the TIMS cost would be USD 10 for single travelers which is not refundable nontransferable and only for single uses. Hence, if you are traveling own your own then TIMs cost would be USD 20.

Also, Every traveler has to pay for Khumbu Pasang Lhamu village development community entrance fee NPR 2000 Per Person. This is also not refundable, nontransferable and only for single uses.
