Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the most famous short treks in Annapurna Region of Nepal. This trek has to offer you the best views of morning sunrise from Poonhill peak at 3210 meters height. Ghorepani Poonhill is the best way to enjoy the spectacular view of amazing Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri range. Although the trek is relatively shorter and lower in elevation (up to 3200 meters), it encompasses an opportunity to enjoy the mysterious beauty of Annapurna region within a short span of time.

From the northern side of Pokhara begins the classic Ghorepani Poonhill Trek.  Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is also known as Annapurna Panorama Trekking. You will trek along the valleys and walk into dense forests while you also enjoy watching icy waterfalls and get refreshed with natural spring water. On reaching the summit of Poonhill, you get clear and close sight of high snowy mountains. Along with the 360-degree panoramic view of the magnificent peaks, Ghorepani Poonhill trek trail takes you to the culturally diverse village of different indigenous people including Gurungs and Magars. During your trek along Ghorepani Poonhill trekking trails, you are bound to be welcomed and cherished by rhododendron forests, a wide variety of flora and fauna and exotic traditional culture.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Short Itineraries:
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu. (1338 meters).
Day 02: Fly to Pokhara (900 meters), drive to Nayapul (1000 meters) and trek to Tikhedunga. (1550 meters).
Day 03: Trek to Ghorepani. (2850 meters).
Day 04: Climb Poon Hill (3210 meters) and trek to Tadapani. (2600 meters).
Day 05: Trek to Nayapul (1000 meters) and drive to Pokhara. (900 meters).
Day 06: Sightseeing at Pokhara and fly back to Kathmandu.
Day 07: Departure.

Detail Itinenary

Arrival In Kathmandu Day 01
Arrive in Kathmandu. (1338 meters)
A representative from Visit Himalaya Treks with the company’s display board will greet you outside the arrival terminal and transfer you to your Hotel. The trek leader will meet the group for a meeting and provide a detailed briefing on the trek. All the required information regarding the trek would be provided. (Overnight at Hotel).
Fly to Nepalgunj Day 02
Fly to Pokhara (900 meters), drive to Naya Pul (1000 meters) and trek to Tikhedunga. (1550 meters)
An early morning 25 minutes flight to Pokhara. Pokhara is the lake city of the country and is less polluted and crowded compared to Kathmandu. Views of Annapurna range and the dominating figure of Machapuchhre (also known as Fishtail) (6997 meters) dominates both the sky and the beautiful Phewa Lake with its reflection in it. A private car will drop us at Naya Pool, an hour and half hour away from Pokhara. The trek starts at Nayapul and passes through the villages of Birethanthi, Sudame, and Hille. The trail follows the Bhurungdi Khola (Khola Means River in Nepali) for the whole day and finally reaches the day’s destination, Tikhedhunga. An easy and short day to kick off the trek. (1:30 hours drive and 3 hours trek) (Overnight at Teahouse. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included).
Trek To Ghorepani Day 03
Trek to Ghorepani. (2850 meters)
After crossing the Bhurungdi Khola on a suspension bridge at the start of the day, climbing steep paved steps until the village of Ulleri finally gets the day and the trek going. It steadies a bit and turns gradual up to Banthati. After Banthati, the trail starts to go gradually uphill through the shades of the Rhododendron forest and passes Nange Thati, the last village before reaching Ghorepani. (5 hours) (Overnight at Teahouse. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included)

Climb Poon Hill (3210 meters) and trek to Tadapani. (2600 meters)
Early morning hike up to Poon Hill (1 hour), one of the best viewpoint of the region to enjoy the sunrise above the spectacular mountain ranges of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. We return for breakfast at Ghorepani and then trek towards Tadapani, climbing a gentle ridge of yet another Rhododendron forest with the views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges still delighting us. The trail leaves the ridge after Deurali and starts to descend down steeply to Nange Thati. A steady and easy walk is soon followed again by another descend down to a small stream with a final climb in the afternoon finally ending the day at Tadapani. (5 hours) (Overnight at Teahouse. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included)
Trek to Tadapani Day 05
Trek to Naya Pul (1000 meters) and drive to Pokhara. (900 meters)
The day starts with a descent through the jungles passing through couple of teashops at Bhaisi Kharka and continues to drop steeply to the famous Gurung village of Ghandruk. The steep descend still continues and finally leads to Syauli Bazaar. The path joins with the newly built road and stays on the road until Birethanti. A short walk to Naya Pul finally ends the trek. A private vehicle awaits and a couple of hours drive separates you from the city and its luxuries. (6 hours) (Overnight at Hotel. Breakfast, Lunch included).
Sightseeing in Pokhara Day 06
Sightseeing at Pokhara and fly back to Kathmandu.
A half day guided tour to the most popular and historical sites of Pokhara and a late afternoon flight back to Kathmandu. (Overnight at Hotel. Breakfast included)
Final-Departure Day 07
Departure
A representative from Visit Himalaya Treks Pvt. Ltd. will check your flight tickets and transfer you to the airport before two hours from your flight with a hope of seeing you again in the future.

  1.  Arrivals and departure transport by car (We will collect you from the Kathmandu international airport) and transfer to Hotel.
  2. Half day sightseeing in Pokhara and necessary transport.
  3. Accommodation (2 persons per room) in Kathmandu and Pokhara in a 3* standard Hotel with breakfast.
