Firstly, the trip takes off from Kathmandu on a scenic flight to Lukla. The flight itself offers plenty of sights of the mountains in Langtang, Jugal, and Everest ranges. After landing, you begin the trek as you walk along the Dudh Koshi River. Passing Monjo on the way, you also enter the Sagarmatha National Park. Then, you continue northward to reach Namche Bazaar. Here, you spend a day and acclimatize to the high altitude while exploring the nearby villages. Next, you follow the Imja River and head to Tengboche village. The village is home to the Tengboche Monastery and offers a sublime view of Mt. Ama Dablam (6856m). Further, you trek east to reach Dingboche village where you climb the nearby Nangkartshang Peak (5616m).

As the second half of the trek begins, you pass Lobuche and reach Gorakshep. Trekking northeast from here, you continue along the Khumbu Glacier to reach the Everest Base Camp. The base camp offers beautiful views of the surrounding Himalayas and glaciers. Then, you return to Gorakshep and spend the night here. On the following morning, you hike to the Kalapatthar viewpoint to enjoy the sunrise in the company of the Mt. Everest (8848m). Finally, you start the return trek and retrace your steps back to Lukla and fly to Kathmandu.

Since the EBC Trek is moderately difficult, trekkers need to be in good physical shape. Also, spring and autumn seasons are the best time to do the trek.

Detail Itinenary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
Our company representatives will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport as you land in Kathmandu. Then, our staff will guide you towards our hotel stay overnight at Hotel.
Day 02: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2652m/8699ft) Duration: 3 hours
After breakfast, you’ll head to the airport and get on a thrilling flight to Lukla. The flight takes about 35 mins and you get beautiful views of the green hills, rivers, and nearby mountains from distance. Then, you start the trek towards Phakding along the Dudh Koshi River. Phakding is a Sherpa settlement in the Dudh Koshi river valley and is the first stop on the trek. Night stay in Phakding. Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283ft) Duration: 6 hours
The next destination on the trek is Namche Bazaar which is also the first acclimatization point of the trek. Because of the longer distance and steep climbs, the trek is a bit more challenging. You start by crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River and head to Monjo village. Then, you enter Sagarmatha National Park and walk through rhododendron and pine forests. You also cross numerous suspension bridges that are covered with prayer flags to reach Namche Bazaar. Night stay in Namche Bazaar. Day 04: Acclimatization Day at Namche
Instead of heading forward, you spend a day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization. This is done so that your body gets adjusted to the thinning air and atmosphere at high altitudes. You visit the Everest View hotel to have breakfast and have a beautiful view of Mount Everest along with other mountains in the morning. Also, you can visit Sherpa settlements like Khumjung and Thame. In the evening, you can have a nice time in the restaurants at Namche Bazaar. Night stay in Namche Bazaar. Day 05: Trek to Tengboche (3860m/12660ft) Duration: 5 hours
The next day, you head towards Tengboche from Namche Bazaar. You have a nice breakfast, pack your bags and start the trek leaving Namche Bazaar. The trail is stone-paved, flat and easy as you leave Namche Bazaar. With some ups and downs, you walk through narrow trails passing some small settlements. As you head further, you see the trails that you’ll be walking to get to Tengboche. Here, you can visit the Tengboche Monastery and enjoy the views of Mt. Ama Dablam (6856m). Night stay in Tengboche. Day 06: Trek to Dingboche (4410m/14464ft) Duration: 5 hours
Next, you head to the second acclimatization point of the trek, Dingboche. After gradual descend for about half an hour, you get to the bank of the Imja river and then cross the bridge over the river. Then, you ascend gradually towards Pangboche. Here, you visit the Pangboche Monastery and continue your journey to Dingboche. As you reach Dingboche, you’ll start seeing farmlands and fields as the place is a farming area of the Sherpas. Day 07: Acclimatization Hike to Nangkartshang Peak
One more day is set aside for acclimatization purposes as you’ll climb over the altitude of 5000 m. On this day, you hike to the top of the Nangkartshang peak (5616m), from where you get nice views of Himalayas. Nangkartshang peak is right above Dingboche and takes no more than 2 hours to get to the top. You can enjoy the views of Makalu (8,463m), Cho Oyu (8,201m), Cholatse (6,335m), Kangtega (6,782m), Thamserku (6,623m), Ama Dablam (6,812m), and Island peak (6,189m) from the top. Moreover, you can also see the Imja river glacier from the Nangkartshang peak. You return to Dingboche and stay here for the night. Day 08: Trek to Lobuche (4910m/16105ft) Duration: 5 hours
After breakfast, you head to the last stop before Base camp, Lobuche. You ascend through open and wide trail in Khumbu river valley. The surrounding is open and the trails are stony and rough. Then, you’ll head to Pheriche following with a trek towards Thukla. Since the area is open, you get nice views of the surrounding and Himalayas. You trek crosses through the Thukla pass and settles at the Lobuche village. Night stay in Lobuche. Trekking distance: 9.5 km Meals Included: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner Highlights of the Day: Views of the Himalayas like the Mt. Everest, Pumo Ri, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam
Day 09: Trek to EBC (5364m/17594ft) & back to Gorakshep (5181m/16994ft) Duration: 8 hours
Finally, you’ll head to your final destination on the trek, the Everest Base camp. First, you trek to Gorakshep where you’ll stop for lunch. You pass Pyramid and then trek through Lobuche pass to finally stop at Gorakshep. The area is snowy and the trail is too. After lunch, you continue through the arid trail towards the Everest Base Camp. At the base camp, you can enjoy great views of mountains like Pumo Ri (7165m) and Nuptse (7861m) along with Khumbu Glacier and Icefall. Then, you return to Gorakshep after exploring the base camp. Night stay in Gorakshep. Trekking distance: 11.5 km Meals Included: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner Highlights of the Day: view of Mt. Day 10: Hiking to Kalapatthar (5545m/18188ft) – Gorakshep - Pheriche (4210m/13809ft) Duration: 7 hours
Today, you hike to Kalapatthar to view the sunrise and majestic views of Himalayas. You start early when it is dark and after a couple of hours, you'll get to the viewpoint of Kalapatthar. The view of sunrise is amazing over the mountains like Mt. Everest (8848m) and Lhotse (8516m). You get a close view of Nuptse (7861m), Ama Dablam (6856m), and many other majestic Himalayas. After you watch the view, you return to Gorakshep and have breakfast. Then, you return to Pheriche the same way you came. Night stay in Pheriche. Day 11: Trek to Tengboche (3860m/12660ft) Duration: 3-4 hours
From Pheriche, you head out for Tengboche after breakfast. You go slowly exploring the Sherpa communities and enjoy the company of local Sherpas. You stop at Dingboche to have lunch and then head towards Pangboche. You visit the monastery and then start walking towards Tengboche. You cross the Imja River and ascend for some time and reach Tengboche. Once again, you explore the village and the Tengboche Monastery. Night stay in Tengboche. Day 12: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283ft) Duration: 3-4 hours
As your return journey continues, you trek down slowly enjoying the views and surroundings. The trails are at the side of hills and wide enough to walk easily and comfortably. You still see the views of Himalayas as you walk through the trails. You can explore the Sherpa villages around Namche Bazaar and enjoy the views of the Everest Mountains. You reach the stone-paved trials and continue down to Namche Bazaar where you finally get to enjoy in the nice restaurants. Night stay in Namche Bazaar. Day 13: Trek to Lukla (2800m/9184ft) Duration: 7 hours
Last day of your trek, you head to Lukla from Namche Bazaar. You walk through the Sagarmatha National Park. You check out from the National Park and then head to Monjo and further towards Phakding where you'll have lunch. You'll see prayer flags and stones painted with Buddhist chants to Lukla. You stay in a hotel in Lukla and the evening, you can stroll around Lukla and enjoy your time in the restaurant. Night stay in Lukla. Day 14: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
Early morning, you return to Kathmandu on a flight across the hilly landscape. In the afternoon, you have free time which can be used to explore the world heritage sites in Kathmandu. You can visit Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath which are the main pilgrimage sites of Buddhist and Hindu. You can also visit the Durbar Squares if you have enough time left. Day 15: Final Departure
Lastly, after breakfast, you'll drive to Tribhuvan International Airport to attend your scheduled return flight. You can also book more tour and trek packages to fully explore Nepal.
