Firstly, the EBC trek begins with your arrival in Kathmandu and heads northwest to Lukla on a short flight. On the flight, you can enjoy the views of the Himalayas before landing at one of the most dangerous airports in the world. Then, the trek officially begins as you trek to Namche Bazaar. On the way, you also enter the Sagarmatha National Park and explore its biodiversity. At Namche Bazaar, you can explore the nearby Khumjung and Khunde villages. Trekking along the Imja River, you pass the Tengboche village to reach Dingboche. Here, you also hike to the top of the Nagarjun Peak (5616m).

After the hike, you head north and cross the Thugla Pass. Then, you begin to trek along Himalayan terrain and glacial moraines. Passing Lobuche on the way, you trek to Everest Base Camp. The trail to the base camp stretches along with dry and arid landscapes. Here, you can relish the views of the Khumbu Icefall and Glacier. After exploring the base camp, you return to Gorakshep. Finally, you hike to one of the most famous locations on the EBC trail. Then, you retrace your steps to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu.

The 14 Days EBC trek is moderately difficult. So, the trekkers must be in good physical shape. Also, spring and autumn seasons are the ideal times to do this trek.

DETAIL ITINERARY

Day 01 - Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu
You arrive in Kathmandu and our company representatives will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport. Then, you’ll be taken to our hotel stay overnight at Hotel.
Day 02 - Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2652m/8699ft) Duration: 3 hours
You’ll have your breakfast and then you’ll drive to Tribhuvan International Airport to catch your scheduled flight to Lukla Airport. The flight offers you a surreal view of the diverse geography of Nepal. You can also rest in the nearby hotel after you land in Lukla and prepare to head further to Phakding. You’ll leave Lukla in no time and then walk through the stone-paved trails that lead to Phakding. Night stay in Phakding.

Day 03 - Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283ft) Duration: 6 hours
After an early breakfast, you head out to Namche Bazaar. You cross the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. This day’s trek is more challenging than the previous day as you have to ascend to a higher altitude. You pass some Sherpa villages where you can observe the lifestyle of the local people. Next, you get to the entry point of Sagarmatha National Park from where the trails go through beautiful rhododendron forests. You can stroll around the village in the evening. Night stay in Namche Bazaar.

Day 04 - Namche Bazaar and Everest View Hotel
This day, you’ll walk around Namche Bazaar and let your body adjust the oxygen level at high altitude. Early morning, you can go to the Everest View Hotel to view the beautiful sunrise and watch the majestic Himalayas like the Mt. Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7861m), Lhotse (8516m), and many others. You can hike to Thame, an old Sherpa village or hike to Khumjung village.
Night stay in Namche Bazaar.

Highlights of the Day: Everest View hotel, Hike to Sherpa villages like Khumjung and Thame, visit the local museum and Edmund Hilary School
Day 05 - Trek to Tengboche (3860m/12660ft) Duration: 5 hours
Next day, you kick start your journey towards Tengboche. The trail is flat and stone-paved as you leave Namche Bazaar. As you head further, you can see the trails that you’ll be trekking which takes you to Tengboche. You’ll see many stupas and Chortens and prayer flags while going through the trails. You’ll reach Sanasa, junction to Gokyo valley and Everest Base Camp. After ascending uphill, you’ll reach Tengboche. You’ll visit the Tengboche monastery and spend the night in a hotel. Night stay in Tengboche.

Day 06 - Trek to Dingboche (4410m/14464ft) Duration: 5 hours
On this day, you head to Dingboche from Tengboche. After you descend for about half an hour, you get to the riverside of the Imja River then cross the river. Then, you'll gradually ascend and reach Pangboche. You get a close view of Ama Dablam (6856m) along with the other Himalayas. You can visit the monastery in Pangboche and continue the trek to Dingboche. Night stay in Dingboche.

Highlights of the Day: visit the Pangboche monastery, close view of Mt. Ama Dablam, fields and farmlands
Day 07 – (Acclimatization day) Dingboche to Nagarjun (5100m/16728ft) and return Duration: 6 hours
You’ll spend this day in Dingboche for acclimatization. There is nothing much to do in Dingboche but you can hike to Nagarjun. The climb takes about 4 hours and the inclination is steep. The main attraction on the hike to Nagarjun is the views of the Himalayas like Ama Dablam (6856m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Kangtega (6685m), Thamserku (6608m), and Lobuche East (6119m). You can also see Pheriche valley as you get to the top. You’ll take rest and then hike back down towards Dingboche. Night stay in Dingboche.

Highlights of the Day: hike to Nagarjun hill, view of Ama Dablam, Kangtega and more, view of Pheriche and Imja River
Day 08 - Trek to Lobuche (4910m/16105ft) Duration: 5 hours
You head to Lobuche which is the last stop before you head for the Everest Base Camp. You start with a gradual ascent through the Khumbu river valley. You’ll head to Pheriche valley where you take rest for a time being. Next, you head to Thukla crossing a bridge. Passing the Thukla village, you also cross the Thukla Pass and settle at Lobuche. Lobuche is a small village with a few hotels and lodges. Night stay in Lobuche.

Day 09 - Trek to EBC (5364m/17594ft) & back to Gorakshep (5181m/16994ft) Duration: 8 hours
Finally, the day has come that you head to the Everest Base camp. First, you trek towards Gorakshep where you’ll stop and have your lunch. Then, you continue walking through the snowy trails towards Base Camp. The prayer flags give you hint that you’ve reached Base Camp and you can see the large Khumbu Icefall as you reach Everest Base Camp. Here, you can relish the views of mountains like Mt. Everest (8848m), Khumbutse (6623m), Nuptse (7861m), Pumo Ri (7165m), and more. You return to Gorakshep after a short period for the night stay. Night stay in Gorakshep.

Day 10 - Hiking to Kalapatthar (5545m/18188ft) – Gorakshep - Pheriche (4210m/13809ft) Duration: 7 hours
This day, you hike to Kalapatthar early morning to view the sunrise and the majestic close views of Himalayas. You start early before sunrise and after a couple of hours, you’ll reach the viewpoint of Kalapatthar. From here, you get a close view of the Himalayas like Mt. Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7861m), Lhotse (8516m), and Ama Dablam (6856m). After you enjoy the views and take some photos, you return to Gorakshep, have breakfast, and then head towards Pheriche. Night stay in Pheriche.

Day 11 - Trek to Namche (3440m/11283ft) Duration: 7 hours
As you start returning, you trek down at a slow pace to enjoy the views and surroundings. You head down towards Lobuche and then continue walking towards Dingboche. You cross the Imja River and ascend towards Tengboche. You explore the Tengboche monastery area once more and rest. Then, you cross the Dudh Koshi River and continue your return journey towards Namche Bazaar. Night stay in Namche Bazaar.

Highlights of the Day: explore the Sherpa villages and learn their lifestyle and cultures, Monasteries on the way, trek along the Dudh Koshi River
Day 12 - Trek to Lukla (2800m/9184ft) Duration: 7 hours
You head to Lukla from Namche Bazaar which will be the last day of this trek. You walk through the rhododendron and pine forests in the Sagarmatha National Park. You can also witness views of some of the Everest Himalayas on the way back. You exit from the National Park and then head to Phakding. You’ll see Mani walls and prayer flags to Lukla. This day, you explore some of the Sherpa villages and spend some time with the local people living there. Night stay in Lukla.

Day 13 - Fly back to Kathmandu
After breakfast, you leave the hotel and attend your scheduled flight to Kathmandu. You can hire a guide and visit heritage sites in Kathmandu after lunch. You can visit Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath. You can also visit the durbar squares in Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur if you get spare time. Night stay in Kathmandu.

Day 14 – International Departure
Lastly, you’ll have breakfast and you’ll be taken to Tribhuvan International Airport to attend your scheduled flight. You can stay for a few more days if you plan to tour around the valley. You can also book other tour and trek packages, if interested.
